October 20, 2010 - 26 weeks

We had a tour of the maternity ward at Sutter Hospital this evening (10/20).  It really made this whole thing seem more real!  It seems like that happens a lot - it becomes more and more real as the little milestones occur and as we get closer and closer to the due date!  We didn't get to see as much as we normally would have because they had 6 births that night (which they say is unusual).  And so there were a few things we weren't able to view, but we still got the basic idea.  It made me feel a little more prepared and a little less nervous, knowing where the maternity ward was, and where we check in and what the basic process is.  I think I might do the tour again in December in hopes that I would get to see the whole thing this time.  Plus we will have finished the childbirth classes by then (we start those classes 11/2) and so I hope to actually have some questions the second time around.
